How to renovate a oxidated gel coat

hei! i have a coronet 24 midi / and a bit late in the season (i know..but just busy year), i start for the first time to renovate my hull. We did nothing with it since we bought him last year.
i look online a lot of tutorial. but what do you recommend? how to sand the gelcoat? what if there are some scratch in it ? shall i just gelcoat over and sand? sand by hand on one direction? or use sand machine? what kind of wax after? is there anybody who did it for a coronet and have documented it with images and comments? thanks a lot

Are you shure you need to sand the hull?
I would start on a small space with a cloth and autosol and elbow grease. If that helps i would invest in a deacent polishing machine and a product line of rubbing, polish and wax. When using a machine I always start cleaning the hull with normal car schampo and a water hose then when the hull is still wet aply rubbing and use the machine. Aply in sections of aprox 1 m2 and make sure hull is always wet. When finished with one product clean hull again and move go through same procedure again with next one. Finish with wax at last the only product that is aplyed in wet, then let it dry and polish it with machine to top finish. When you buy the machine ask for at least four types of pads for rubbing, polish, wax and final finish.
